A. J. Field, president of Global Marine Inc., Los Angeles-based marine oil and gas contract drilling company, has announced that Maurice E. Smith has assumed the post of treasurer of Global Marine Inc. Mr. Smith's responsibilities will include all financial aspects of Global Marine's business. Mr. Smith's background in the oil industry includes 11 years with Husky Oil Company, Cody, Wy., where he was financial vice-president.
Mr. Smith is a certified public accountant and a lawyer. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and his law degree from Stanford University. Mr. Smith was a U.S. Navy pilot lieutenant in World War II.
