Andre Buchel has assumed presidency of Sulzer Bros., Inc., headquartered at 200 Park Avenue, New York City. He replaces Felix van der Schaar, who has been appointed group vice president, Diesel Division, of the parent company, Sulzer Brothers Limited, in Winterthur, Switzerland. Prior to becoming president of the U.S. firm, Mr. Buchel spent his career with Sulzer Brothers Limited and their member company Escher Wyss Ltd. in Switzerland and abroad. He has held various positions in product development, sales, and marketing, especially in the field of thermal turbo-machinery. He holds a master of engineering degree from the Federal Polytechnical Institute of Lausanne, and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
