Foss Launch & Tug Company, a subsidiary of Dillingham Corporation, Seattle, has applied for a Title XI guarantee to aid in financing the construction of six tractor tugs. All of the vessels will be diesel-powered, with four rated at 3,000 bhp and two at 4,000 bhp.

The tugs are expected to operate in the Puget Sound and Los Angeles/Long Beach harbor areas. A builder has not yet been selected. If approved, the Title XI guarantee would cover $23,530,000, or 87 1/2 percent of the estimated cost of $26,892,000.
