Edward J. Desher, president of The Philadelphia Maritime Exchange, has announced the election of John R. Galloway to the board of directors. Mr. Galloway is the public affairs director, Eastern region, for Gulf Oil Corporation. He fills a vacancy left by the resignation of Capt. Klaus Matthes, manager of U.S. operations for Gulf Trading and Transportation Company. Captain Matthes has been transferred to Houston, Texas.
