F.X. McNerney, director of the Maritime Administration's Central Region, has announced the appointment of Roy R. Moffett as central region ship operations officer, stationed in New Orleans, La.
Until recently, Mr. Moffett had served as an operations research analyst in the region finance office. Prior to that time, he was central region intermodal development officer and earlier had served as chief, division of production, in the office of ship construction at MarAd's headquarters, Washington, D.C. In the latter capacity, he managed several of the agency's shipyard activities including monitoring the progress of ship construction under the shipbuilding subsidy program. He also supervised all field construction representatives located at the major shipyards in the United States.
